I've owned my TV for 3 years and have not yet seen what it can do in HD.
Comcast is offering a great deal which includes an HD receiver.

Can anyone tell me how good of an HD picture I will get with this TV?

I don't know a whole lot about this field, but have been told that I bought my TV too soon. I should have held out for DVI which supposedly has a far superior picture. Is it worth it to take advantage of the Comcast offer and get an HD picture on this TV once and for all? Will it still look good with the Component Output?

See the FAQ on DVI Connectors. There is usually little or no difference between DVI and component video on CRT-based HDTVs.

HD will look great. See the FAQ on "What you need to do to your new HDTV" (even though your HDTV is not new, you want it to look it's best. I have a 3-year old TV and so far I have not seen better picture quality in anything under $5k.

I have the same MITS set as yours with Comcast and all HD channels look great. So I think you should go for it! You can always cancel if you don't like it.

I actually switched my Sat input from DVI to component. I found the picture to be a bit warmer. - am now using DVI for the DVD input.

Go for it RBDELI,
Your set is built for HD, prepare to be amazed. Not many see improvement in DVI vs. CV, myself included. Get comcast to give you a DVR for the deal, dual tuner if possible, dont worry still just one STB.

Thanks all. I did get the Comcast with HD Receiver and HD really looks great.
Also, I've been told by my installer that Comcast will go 100% digital on all their channels in the next week. That's good news.

I do have some comments on the overall picture quality of cable vs. dish, but will post that in a new thread. Thanks again!

Going all digital would be great, but I'll believe it when I see it.
