I'm trying to link my Mitsubishi HC900 projector to my Denon 2910 DVD player via a digital connection. The HC900 has a DVI-D input, and the DVD player has both a DVI-D and HDMI output connector. I will need a 50feet (15meter) cable to connect the projector to the player. My question is, would I better go for a DVI-D to DVI-D cable or for a HDMI to DVI-D cable? I heard that HDMI is designed to run over longer lengths, would this help in this case? Lastly since a 50foot cable isn't exacly cheap ($200+), will I get a good picture at that length or will I most likely get interference?

Any advice is welcome

Either way should produce good results, the key at that length is a high quality cable. Since the signal is digital, as long as it gets from the DVD player to the projector with no loss of data the picture will be fine.

I have a 25 foot run to a projector. I was plainning on doing component, and considering DVI in addtion. but then a salesman at the place where I was going to buy the projector told me to only run component because running dvi would not be needed. I will be running it through my celing and dry-walling it up so i need to decide now and have it last! any suggestions?
