PDP5040HD Flickering with PureCinema

Hello:

I have the PDP5040HD. Does anyone experience flickering (such as the entire screen getting slightly brighter and darker) when utilizing the ADV setting for PureCinema? It seems to flicker regardless of the signal input (480i from DVD plater, 480p from cable, or 720p from HDTV).

I would guess that the PureCinema system is trying to optimize the output signal to the TV but is somehow overcompensating with the brightness, but I could be entirely wrong.

There was a fix for this on the board at www.avsforum.com. Can't remember what it was, but there is something there.

go to cnet.com and read the review for your set. I agree with them to leave it on standard all the time. note that DVD in 480p only allow off or advanced no standard. That goes for all progressive signals. I really cant tell anyway except for the flicker
