I've been enjoying Discovery HD Theater for the past few month (since I got my HD Set) and suddenly Comcast have moved Discovery HD and INHD channels to Digital subscriptions only. I have Extended Basic in San Jose area. Can they just remove channels we like? Instead I got 5 KQED channels half of which have weak signal.
They can do whatever they like with the digital channels (there are rules regarding analogue basic). Recently Rogers decided to start charging us $10/mo for a package of HD channels that they have been supplying for a long time at no charge.
We wrote many letters and e-mails to Rogers. Many of us didn't subscribe to the new package. They moved one of the channels back into the "no charge" section and reduced the charge for the others to $5/mo. Power of the consumer.

Discovery is also changing Discovery Wings channel to the Military channel. I don't know why, I love the Wings channel!! This new channel sounds like a lot of other stuff than just planes and such. I will miss it...

Remember the days when there was only one Discovery Channel that had such cool stuff on it literally 24/7? Then they split off into like 5 different Discovery genres, and the original Discovery Channel (the only one you still get in a Basic pkg) no longer had such cool stuff all the time... They've lost their focus, imo.
Pretty much Animal Planet covers all my nature curiosities now- hardly ever hit the Discovery channel anymore.
