Hey guys....I just recently upgraded my 48" Mits to a WS-55515 model. I wanted to see what experience people have had with upconverting DVD players on thier Mitsubishi TVs. I currently have a Denon DVD-1600 Progressive player hooked up and it is a great picture but I was wondering if maybe going up to a Denon DVD-2910 or other similar player might be worth it for this type of television.
HD-DVDs are a year or two off before they will be a practical source of HT entertainment. I was just wondering if spending the extra money for a new player would even be worth it.
What experience have you guys had with these players and your Mitsubishi TVs and has anyone done any comparisons to thier old progressive players. Let me know. I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say.

I have a Mits WD-52525, and just bought the Sony DVP-NS975V upconverting DVD Player (uses HDMI). I get a black screen, and I know its not the DVD player as I brought it back to the store and it works fine on the TV floor model they have.
Right now, I'm very upset with Mitsubishi...Their DLP sets were rushed to market and their Customer Service is useless (assuming you even get to talk to a human).
If I ever get a fix I will post, but my advice to you is find another TV. You'll be lucky to get anyone at Mitsubishi that can help you.

Hey, CubsFan29! I own a WD-62525 and a Toshiba upconverting DVD player with HDMI output so maybe I can help. First the TV must be on the source labeled "MONLINK" as that is the HDMI input. On my Toshiba, there is a switch labeled HDMI that must be selected to output the upconverted HDMI signal to the TV. There is also a resolution selector switch for 720p or 1080i, I use 1080i and the picture is absolutely beautiful, very movie like and no artifacts. Your sony should have similar selector switches. Hope this helps get you going, you will be impressed when you finally get it! :lurk:

Well, I finally got my TV replaced and it works perfectly now. My HDMI input works, and the screen is perfectly straight and not tilted. This is my 3'rd TV set, so I guess 3'rd time is a charm.
My advice to anyone out there with any of the Mits DLP sets - If you have issues, keep complaining! I think these were rushed to market and the first sets had a LOT of issues. But I seem to have finally gotten one that is perfect. And I can now say, the Mits DLP's are indeed a beautiful TV set...
