So can an S-video wire put out a resolution of 720p? Why I ask is they say on some xBox games that they have 720p but the highest video wire xBox has is an S-video!!? Right?

Hope this isn't a question that has been hacked to death but thought you all would know... thanks in advance :guiny:

Only 480i over S-video or composite.

Component for 480i and higher. (or DVI/HDMI)

For more information on the capabilities of the various connections, see the FAQs on "Cables & Connections" and "resolution".

My room mate and I where thinking the same thing and I appriciate all your good natured advice for a newbie to the site!.... It was a resolution question and not an xBox question!

Thanks and happy new year

You can get a HD pack for the Xbox that has component outputs and an optical out for surround sound. If you have a HDTV and/or home theater and a Xbox it's a must have. There are a number of games that support 480p and some that also support 720p or 1080i. Check the gaming forum here for more details.
