Can any one help me in deciding which one to buy. I bought the hitachi the picture was very good but it had some focusing issue i tried to tweak using manual magic focus for 3 hours but could not fix it. Now i am thinking of going to Mitsubishi.

CAn any one please let me know if the picture in Mitsubishi is as good as Hitachi.

Help appreciated.

The magic focus only works on a few points. To do a proper convergence you need to allign the 117 points manually - I believe your set allows for this without going into the service menu.

You should not have to use magic focus more than once a month, Do not use it over and over, you can actually damage your set.

Please also check out --> This Thread (http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1440), if you haven't done so already. A different TV will not solve your problems, you'll just find other ones, until you get your TV properly set up.

Perhaps the guns not only needed convergence, but are not "focused" properly. (Convergence is "allignment", focus is different)

Perhaps your signal is not as good as it could be.

Perhaps you're just watching a larger TV and things look out of focus the way they would be if you looked at a newspaper with a magnifying glass.

The Hitachi picture should be as good as the Mits if both are set up properly - They are both very good sets. The differences between good HDTVs are relatively minor, even though some people prefer one brand over another.

You may wish to call in a technician "under warranty" stating your concern regarding the focus...
