The pdp-4345 has a cable card slot. Other then that they are the same tv

I said the same thing to my self . But i did find a pdp-4345 locally for the same
price as most wanted for the pdp-4340. You have to shop around a little.

also, the life span for 4340 is half as long as 4345. plus the tuner box looks little bit dif

the guy from plamsawarehouse advised that 4340 has a life of 30,000hrs whereas the newer version 4345 has double the life span of the plasma. for some reason, i couldnt not verify this going thru the pioneer website

I don't think you will be able to verify that claim.
Sounds like a 'salespitch' to me. I'd be willing to bet that the actual display is exactly the same.

PDP-434 displays 16.7 million colors, while 435 displays 1.07 (or something like that) billion
