should i step up?

i currently have an older sony wega 36" that i am very happy with(no hd).i would like to get a bigger tv and was thinking about the e44w46lcd.after reading about lcd's,i'm not sure if i would be happy with the picture quality because i am watching a tube now.the zenith would go in my basement which is on the dark side and i think that is good for an lcd.i watch movies on dishnet and play alot of ps2 and xbox.i don't know if hd excites me that much.would it be worth the money to invest in the zenith or should i just stick with the sony?

When you decide to go to HD, just get another Sony.
You won't be disappointed.

I went from a 35" Trinitron to the E44W46LCD and so far have been very happy. It's definately a good bang for the buck TV and we had cabinate size restraints. Just a note: 4:3 format on this TV will be the same size as a 36" standard TV (side letterbox).
