While swapping my defective SA3250HD for a replacement at the Newtown depot, I heard one of the agents tell a new subscriber that they expect to add CBS and Fox on HD in time for the Super Bowl. Whether you care about the Super Bowl or not, this is great news.

That's great news...if true. I wouldn't take anything they say at face value, though. I've been around the block with Charter so many times....

Guess we'll know soon enough! It's weird, because during my last frustrating call w/ Charter I was told that we wouldn't be getting any new HD stations until 2006. Of course, this was after the rep told me that "no networks in CT are broadcasting in HD except for NBC" (which, of course, is a complete lie) so I'm not sure how much faith to put into the 2006 estimate...

They did add CBS HD last year on Saturday morning before the Super Bowl and yanked it as quickly as they could after the game. Monday morning, it was gone. I hope they are not talking about that.
I've heard such great things about "24" in HD on Fox that I'm getting more and more frustrated by the day waiting for Charter. Unfortunately, they've got my town monopolized, so I have no other choice at this time.
One thing I've been doing a lot is checking the DPUC website. Whenever a cable company is planning on changing their channel lineup or billing amounts, they need to file with the state DPUC office. These filings can be found on the internet, so you can usually get some advance notice when something is going to change.

I sure hope your right Kal... It would be awesome to have CBS, Fox in HD... Especially in time for the super bowl! Charter needs to Sh^t or get off the pot!!!

Well, I am right in what I heard. The issue is whether the service person knew what she was talking about (not often the case). I must admit that I was highly surprised by the comment since Charter has not been forthcoming about such things.
