DVI computer connection

I am going to buy a new Hitachi widescreen for Christmas. It has a DVI connection, and I do a lot of video editing on my computer. I have a dual monitor card with twin DVI outputs and extended desktop capabilities. I intend to use the TV for some more desktop real estate at times. I was wondering if anyone has tried this. Has anyone had any success? Any information would be appreciated.
