Has anyone heard of any new HD content coming this year? I have been told that "BIG" changes will be coming in January, but I haven't seen anything. Will we be getting Discovery and ESPN2 that I see other markets already have? Are there any other channels on the horizon? Any other locals? PBS? UPN?

Let me guess, was it a CSR rep that told you that "BIG changes" were coming? I wouldn't put too much weight in anything they tell you. They're only interested in getting you signed up and keeping your business. I can't tell you how many times I've been told that "we're adding more channels soon, check back next month..."
You mentioned ESPN2, do you have ESPNHD in Frederick? I'm an adelphia customer in neighboring Carroll county and have been waiting for ESPN since I singned up for HD last fall. All we have is: ABC, CBS, NBC + movie channels (HBO/SHO...etc). Just curious, do you have more?
Hopefully we will eventually get some good news, but I have yet to hear any official announcements... :nono2:

I'm also in Frederick, MD, and yes I think we do get ESPNHD, but I haven't subscribed to it. Finally got my HD/DVR box this week and its great (so far). I was using a DVI connection from cable box to TV, but then pictures were only in 4:3 format and not expanded to fill the screen. Now I've gone back to component video, but using 4:3 format for sometime has left ghosting on the screen, like a yellow tint. Is this permanent (probably) or is there something I can do.

Rob,
You can change this by going into the User Preferences of the box.
1. Turn off unit Cable box, but keep the TV on.
2. Press the "Menu" button on the front of the box.
3. The screen on the TV is just text, no graphics. The selection that says 4:3 Override can be changes to "480i", "480p", or "Stretch". The default is "Off". This screeen also lets you change between 16:9 and 4:3 as well as the DVI/YPbPr OUPUT setting to be 1080i, 720P, 540P, 480p, or 480i.
4. Press the "Menu" again and this will save your settings.
Hope this helps.
