I've had my Mitsubishi 65909 for exactly four months now. I've had to have the convergence board replaced twice and now it's gone out again. The store where I bought the TV from sends their own "Mitsubishi tech" out to look and replace the board. He came out last night and said that he needs to order yet another convergence board. I'm getting really mad that I've had so many problems with my TV in such a short time. Has anyone else had these types of problems? I’m ready to call Mitsubishi directly and complain about. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think after 3-4 fixes, the manufacturer is "encouraged" to replace the TV.

What happens when you convergence board goes out? I just had a service man out to look at my 2 week old TV and he seems clueless. I was watching a movie and the screen went black and it took about 30 minutes to an hour before It would come back on. When it did come back on the edges of the picture are green and the middle is red. My repair gun is going to order the gun mounts and replace them because he doesn't have a clue what the problem could be. I have inspected the gun mounts my self and they dont seem to move at all. If that is good or not I don't know. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Go to the thread 'flashing timer light' for a nightmare story of my 65909. It crapped out 6 weeks after purchase. The technician still cannot get the edges to line up correctly. Until the technician tells Mitsubishi headquarters the TV cannot be fixed, you are stuck with a 400 pound paper weight. The technician who visits my TV advises that I am ignorant and need to read the manual. I point to chapter and verse on several pages to demonstrate where the manual's instruction fails to produce the intended result. He has yet to notice my sheepskin (PhD) on the wall.

By the way, read your warrenty....The Mitsubishi Projection Television Limited Warranty states in Paragraph a. Parts. "We will repair or replace, at our option, any defective part."

That clause "at our option" pretty much takes away any recourse you may have.
