I need some advice…

I purchased a Samsung model#TXN2668WHF 26” Widescreen HDTV from Sears.

I want to “pull-in” OTA digital channels with this combo:
US Digital HDTV Tuner/Receiver http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2598451 and a Jensen TV930 Amplified Set Top Antenna http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=210-599 .

Antennaweb.org lists my stations as follows:

* red - vhf WNIN-DT 9.1 PBS EVANSVILLE IN 98° 14.7 12
* red - uhf WEHT-DT 25.1 ABC EVANSVILLE IN 191° 9.9 59
* red - uhf WEVV-DT 45.1 CBS EVANSVILLE IN 184° 8.3 45
* red - uhf WFIE-DT 14.1 NBC EVANSVILLE IN 174° 8.4 46
* blue - uhf WKOH-DT 31.1 PBS OWENSBORO KY 135° 15.7 30
* blue - uhf WTVW-DT 28.1 FOX EVANSVILLE IN 85° 9.7 28

…all the stations I want are less then 10 miles away from my house. A few I wouldn’t mind having are no more then 16 miles out.

My main question is: Since I want OTA digital channels, will an indoor antenna like the Jensen TV930 be able to get the job done? I really don’t want to use an outdoor. I receive the stations analog channels pretty good with the indoor Jensen TV930…so how do you think it will do with digital when I hook-up the US Digital HDTV Tuner/Receiver...what about it Ratmat?

An indoor may suffice.

Personally, I'd try a Zenith Silver Sensor though.

If you look on my list of stations...the top one (PBS) is VHF. It looks like the Zenith Silver Sensor is UHF only. It's really not a big deal if I don't get that channel...but still... If the Jensen (which is just as expensive as the Silver Sensor) I have "pulls-in" all the analog stations pretty good, wouldn’t that mean that I had a good shot at getting the stations digital counterpart even more (given that digital is easier to pick-up)?

Thank you for your time and patience Ratman and everyone else. Sorry about posting in the wrong area.

UHF only antennas sometimes are successful at pulling in higher band VHF channels (7 and above).

Buy/try an antenna from a retailer where if it proves unsatisfactory, it can be easily returned.

You may also consider the 15-1880 from Radio Shack if VHF is a problem.

What about the Samsung Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna from Bestbuy for $99.99?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?j=1&tab=1&type=product&id=1091101853964&skuId=6830888&productCategoryId=cat08081

Has anyone tried this antenna?? Please someone look at the specs on this model...all comments are welcome, ever if you don't have experience with this antenna.

...Also, I heard that when the TV Networks complete their conversion over to all digital they will at some time go back to the original channel assignment they had used for their analog transmissions. If this is true then a lot more digital transmissions will use VHF then before the migration to all digital was completed…thus, many people who did not need an antenna that received VHF for watching all their digital channels may all the sudden need to buy an UHF/VHF antenna to do so.

…so maybe it is prudent to get an UHF/VHF antenna in the first place.

Example:
Where I live
Fox (analog) is channel 7
Fox (digital) is channel 28.1 with a Frequency Assignment of 28

...so if Fox goes back to channel 7 for it's digital, I would all of the sudden need a VHF antenna or I would lose that network.

If your locals are under 25 milesm try the antenna mentioned above.

Which one:
Zenith Silver Sensor
Or
Samsung Amplified Indoor HDTV

___

Also...will using Walmarts $200 "El-Cheapo" US Digital HDTV Tuner/Receiver have any major drawbacks?

Silver Sensor or the Radio Shack 15-1880.

Only drawback (about the USD) is that I've read many gripes about it.
