i am in a similiar situation as gooey is, i live in gilroy ca, and am trying to get the fox hd feeds from either Salinas.

I've tried 2 indoor antenna's from Best Buy, and neither sees Fox Salinas KCBA-DT.

At this point it looks like i have to get an outdoor antenna, and i'm looking for suggestions. I already get CBS, NBC, and ABC from DTV (for some reason they won't give me Fox no matter how much i beg them), so all i really want is the Fox HD feed via OTA.

Bottom line, i need some suggestions on the best antenna combo. I am going to have this professionally done, so any sugggestions of people local to the Silicon Valley that do installations would be appreciated as well.

Salinas is 18 miles away according to antennaweb, so i shouldn't need a small radio tower on my roof. Looking at antennasdirect, it appears that the xg42 fits my needs, and oer the other post it looks like the channel master9521 rotator would be a good choice to avoid having to go up on the roof to modify as well?

Anything else, or do i have the wrong parts to get this done?

Yes, get a rotator, but consider the Channel Master 4228 8 Bay antenna, as well...With it, you may very well see the San Francisco-Oakland stations. If you want those stations, you may want to consider a preamplifier, and the Channel Master Titan 7777 preamp is a good choice for you...

I have used both the DB8 and the 91XG. They are both good antenna, but I would have to say that teh 91XG is a better antenna for me.

I am getting really good signals from the Salinas channels and the antenna is not even pointed in that direction. The signal strength is around 80%.

The channels that I am pulling from SF are not as strong, but I seem to be pulling those channels a little stronger with teh 91XG rather than the DB8.

Being in Gilroy, I would think that a CM 8 Bay would be a really good choice since it pretty much the same thing as teh DB8 and is cheaper.
