Does anyone know of a STB w/ component inputs? Thanks!
The Samsung SIR-T165. It is an OTA only tuner though.

I just recently ordered the Samsung SIR-T165 STB from Sound City.com! It has tons of inputs and putputs. Not only does in have the "component" output jacks, but also DVI, optical digital for Dolby 5.1 output to your digital audio receiver. Check out all the specs at their web site! There is a tremendous demand for STBs of any make and model and Sound City has had these STBs backordered for weeks now, so good luck.

My SIR-T150 is for sale! It's an excellent box, but no longer needed (digi-cable for local stations). Have had no problems with it and it is as good as new. Comes with an indoor boosted Radio Shack antenna.
Make offer.

HokieD, Are you saying that your SIR-T150 has component inputs? That is what RiskySeven is looking for...

I may be wrong but I do not think any STB has comp "inputs". Outputs yes. What use would one have for inputs?
The SIR-T165 has 1 component input. The component input would be useful for hooking up another component to a HDTV that has a limited number of component inputs. Example: HDTV has two component inputs, user has X-Box, DVD player and STB.;)
Also, the SIR-T165 can upconvert 480i/p signals fed into the component input to 1,080i through the component output.

Has anyone run a DVD player this way and made comparisons?
I have not personally, so I cannot comment on the upconversion. However, there are several people over at AVS that have done this. Try a search over there for some opinions.
Interesting that --> This Site (http://www.samsungusa.com/SamsungUSA/PRODUCT/20020626/sirt165.pdf) Says that it has component inputs. The other sites I looked at did not mention it - weird.
kevinw, you are a sceptic aren't you! Check out the Samsung website, (I don't know this forum's rules and I don't want to violate them). The site has owner's manuals and everything. Page 12 of the SIR-T165 owner's manual shows you the back panel of the STB and all of its inputs/outputs.

Jake,
Hey I deleted my post. I got 57u doing it now. Only one sight shows the Component inputs all the rest show outputs But I am now going to Samsung to see. Hey I like the idea of upconverting 480p to 1080i:D

SIR-T150 does not have component inputs as far as I can tell. Of course my STB is all boxed up now ready for sale.

Jake hit the nail on the head! I'm an X-box junkie and my Toshiba doesn't support 720p natively (ARGGHHH!). Next year, a game (Dragon's Lair, a remake of that mid-80s arcade game) is going to be released w/ 1080i support. I'm drooling!
If you want to sell your Samsung, please email me w/ your asking price. Thanks.
