i did a search in the Mits section and found nothing like this and was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. my remote randomly stops working for my set (note: set is 3 weeks old). at random times i'll try to change the channel, volume, etc, and the television does not respond. the only button that works is the Power button. if i turn off the television and turn it back on, everything is fine. this has happened 4 or 5 times now.

i've called tech support at Mits and they couldn't think of anything other than batteries. they directed me to parts for a new remote. parts wouldn't do anything unless i paid, which i did 3 weeks ago. :) they gave me the number to warranty, which i haven't called yet. in the meantime, i was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem with their sets.

post what software version you are using. it is in the regular menu somewhere.

I also think that there are directions in the manual on how to reset the remote, which would not require turning tv off.

yup, power, 9,3,5 will reset the remote (slide switch on TV)

good luck.

found the code for remote reset.....completely overlooked it last night.

here is the software version i'm currently using:
V26 004.04.

i got the software version by going into TV MENU and selecting SETUP, it is listed there. when i called Mits tech support they had me get the version by going to TV MENU and hitting some numbers - something like 7, 2, 4, 8. do you know where those codes are listed or how to get ahold of those? are those the service menu codes i've read about on here?

my cable installer used some codes when installing my cable card. the couple times i've seen this done, quite a bit of useful information was provided. (for example, when tech support had me enter the code above, it not only gave me the software version but a bunch of other info too.)

thanks

version 4 is the newest, AFAIK. There are probably other service menu codes. I don't have it here, but one opens up an ISF calibration menu system. it makes it easier to get the set ISF'd. there are test patterns and you can also adjust the Horizon/vert position. this is the only adjustment I have made. Beware that you can F up your tv in these menus....
