View Full Version : Aspect Ratio Problem

My PT-47WXC43 is almost a year old. It has performed with no problems until a couple of days ago. I noticed that I could not read the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen and also the top of the screen is missing. I have tried to adust the screen in the menu option and as well as changing the ratio settings with the remote. It has made no difference. Anyone have any suggestions?

the picture seems to have streched.
both across and in width and now will not fit the screen.
Some stretch modes will cut off a bit of the top and bottom of the image. Please read the FAQ on "WS Stretch Modes" and choose the correct one for your particular TV, channel, and viewing habits.

Check the stretch on both the HD Terminal (if you have one) and the TV itself. The only other possibility is that your screen's orientation has gone off for some reason. Had you unplugged it or had a power failure by any chance? It's normal to have some 'overscan' (picture bleeding off the set), but you should still see the ticker on CNN, MSNBC etc....

What HD tuner do you have? Cable, DirecTV, OTA? If it's an SA tuner from your cableco, try pressing the # key to see if you accidently engaged the zoom mode. Check your TV to make sure it's stretch modes are not on.
