I think I am been starting new threads like no tomorrow about basic installation tips. Maybe the mod can make these things sticky or collect them so that noobs like me can go to once source to find answers.

Anyway, my question is about the tilt of the antenna.

I read that if you tilt the antenna up a bit, that you have a better chance of receiving better singal strength.

My question is, now much tilt should you have or is it just something that depends on your location and the location of the towers you are trying to grab channels from?

I know that there are crazy setups that you can buy, but it seems like over kill to me. http://www.atechfabrication.com/products/dual_antenna_boom.htm

With a name like gooey... it's already sticky.

You ask the questions... we'll moderate.

Tilting is area/installatoin/hardware dependant.

The most cost effective option is to temporarily loosen the brackets and move it around. You should get enough 'play' to shift the position up. Use a hunk of wood to prop it up if necessary.

Some find these testing endevours easier with two people. One at the antenna and one inside checking signal strength. Cell phone/portable phone or walkie-talkies work great.
