I recently purchased the Sony KDF50WE655, and was wondering if you can program the remote to control the volume on other brands of audio receivers. I am having the tv delivered in March, and have tried to find out this information online, but as far as I can tell you can only use it to control the audio receiver volume if it is a Sony. By the way, I have a Kenwood (VR-507)audio receiver. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

Have you tried programming certain codes from the manufac. listed in the book? Take one of the DVD or cable box numbers and see if it works. I luckily have a Sony component w/your same TV, so it wasn't a prob.
Program your receiver as the satellite box and see if the volume works.
That's all i got.
good luck

I am not having my television delivered until March, because I am moving. I figure the less times you move a tv, the better. Therefore, I haven't been able to actually look at the manual or anything. I was just curious if it was even an option. Thanks for your help.
You can probably download the manual from the Sony site...
Some TV remotes can control some receivers, but it's really hit and mostly miss.

not that you want to spend more money but check out the Harmony universal remotes. Absolutely fantastic. I have the 688 and it controls my comcast 6412 cable box with dual tuner pvr;television, vcr, dvd and receiver. and 25% rebate from logitech thru beginning of March.
