I just got a Samsung HLP4663W and have the SA 8300HD, along with a receiver for surround sound. My question is I want to run the audio from the 8300 to my receiver using an Optical cable, will this have any affect if I'm running the HDMI from the 8300 to my TV? Sorry if this has been posted already, first timer!! :nono2:
Should work fine, but some people did encounter difficulties in only getting DD2.0 instead of DD5.1 due to an error in the firmware of the SA8300HD.
Do a search for "SA8300HD + optical" and you should be able to find the thread if you encounter that problem.
Connect the optical cable directly to the receiver, not "through" the TV, because most TVs will only give you DD2.0.
