Any signal loss running both antennas thru one coax or is it best to have a
different cable for each.? I'm new at this so be gentle. :D

You can't run both with out a Diplexor. You will lose antenna signal strength.
Where are you located? The SquareShooter is a pretty antenna but not always the best for receiving OTA for the money spent. have you looked at www.antennweb.org for the locationa and distance for your local stations? If so post the results for more help.

All stations I want are grouped in one area approx 28 miles distance,
324-325 degrees. Diplexer outside and inside to split signal, correct.?

Great to have them all in one place. Yes you would need a diplexor out and in. Since your stations are all UHF I would receomend a ChannleMaster 4228
half the price and a proven performer.

Absolutely! while the SquareShooter is not ugly, it IS expensive for the performance it gives...
