Hi all this is a stupid question because im sure i am missing something to press. I just got this tv today and it is awesome, best tv i have ever owned but for some resion all of a sudden (probably pressed something) it displays the input name in the top right corner and i cannot get it to go away, and when i am on cable it displays the ch number. Anyone have any idea what i am missing here or how to get rid of this. thanks :)

Check through the various user menu items - this will be good to do anyway since it'll familiarize you with the various features of the TV. There's probably a "display" option or something like that. Perhaps even such a button on the remote? Is there an "exit" key or something similar on the remote? RTFM may help too. ;)

I found it it was the recall button... lol ... i knew i did something with it. Does anyone know if there is any special things i can do with an lcd to keep the life long.... like how long should it bee on during the day and stuff like that. thanks

I've got the same set and I love it to death. My suggestion would be to wipe it down with a dry soft cloth when it gets dusty and as far as how long it should be on.....how about while you're watching it.

If you're not watching it, it's probably best to keep it off.

P.S. Once you get the settings (tint, color, etc.) set up, watch the picture quality get even better.

In my household it is used everday for several hours. I wanna use it as often as I can during the first year since it's covered under the warranty(including the bulb). No problems to report it just gets better and better.

is it good to turn it off and on all day or best to just leave it on. sometimes ill be watching it but might come on the computer for 15 min, is it good to turn it off for the 15 min and then back on again ?.... just worried the bulb will burn out.... first year wont be a problem but the second year im paying 450$ for that bulb. Picture is amazing on this tv... seems the black levels are a bit off maybe but i might just need to configure the settings more. thanks for the replys.

one other thing i was wondering, i have the 1 yr manufacturer waarranty on this tv but the place i got it from is offering an extended 5 yr warranty for it for 400$ (does not cover replacing the bulbs) does anyone thing it is worth it to get the warranty? thanks

Your probably better off leaving it on if your only going away for 15 minutes. Anything longer I would turn it off.

In picture settings, there is "other adjs." I believe. You can adjust black ext. to your liking it will help the dark scenes.

Forget the warranty if it doesn't cover the bulb.

Thank you, i was told not to get the warranty by a few people but i don't know much about lcd tvs so not sure what all could go wrong, i guess if it is a manufacture defect it will happen in the first year anyway. Also thanks ill look into the menu more, havent really had too much time to go into much but WOW what an increadible picture, the only regret is not getting the matchin stand for it, ( didnt have enough cash for $500 stand )

One of the best things about this set is how much you can tweak it. It'll take a while but you'll get it done.

As far as stands the matching unit is way overpriced especially for the 43. I got this one and it matches great with the set. Mine is a 50 but I think you get away with it.

Everyone who sees it thinks it came with it, color match is perfect.

CC has another stand for $300.00 for the 43

Oman321, I have the same stand for my PT-60LC14. And I get the exact same responses from anyone who sees it. Also, this stand accomodates all of my components. The Panasonic stand would not work for me because of it's shape.

I also agree with you abou the tweaking. You have a lot of options to get it to your liking. But when it was all said and done...I think my final tweaks ended being almost the same as the settings when I brought it home. LOL!

Also..I think it is true about the "burn in" factor. The 1st week I got my set, I noticed the picture quality appeared better each day without me touching anything.
(My apology for getting off topic...yes..the recall button removes the letters. ;) )

Hello,

I thought the bulb only cost couple of hudread bucks. Is it really that expensive? Has anyone checked the bulb prices online? C'mon share the bad news.
