Sound City to deliver?

After 4 1/2 weeks waiting for my ordered Samsung SIR-t165 terrestrial STB, i am told by a Sound City sales Rep that they will be receiving their bsckordered alottment on 11-20-02. Hopefully, they will ship mine at the ORIGINAL low price with free shipping as we had originally agreed upon.

I plan to try ouit this receiver with a set of Radio Shack amplified rabbit ears that I bought to receive "local" stations that are not available through Dish Network and that I'm unwilliong to shell out $6-7/mo. for.

I'll give this forum feedback after I have op-checked the STB and know how to use it. None to soon, IMO!:rolleyes:

false alarm!! Turns out I am STILL (and I'm sure many other people who have ordered things) experiencing the result s the the Long shoremans' strike from a few months back. Not enough STBs and other electronic merchandise were received by Sound City to fulfill committments to ALL backorders. So, I'll have to wait until around Christmas to get my SIR-T165!

I already have downloaded the owner's manual and am getting the hang of the features and procedures, but there is nothing like "tinkering" with the real deal. Also, I called Samsung cust. service, explained the delay from the strike and requested an advance copy of the owners manual. They promised to send one right out1 Nice!! I am really excited!!

P.S. I seem to have a genuine "knack" for ordering/being attracted to a lot of stuff that is always out of stock at the supplier or retailer. it's happened several times now with different items at different times. Weird!
