I've had the D52WLCD set for about 8 months. Now all of a sudden it stopped working - the light blinks but the set never turns on. I took it in for service and they replaced the ballast and lamp. It worked once, then stopped working again. The Zenith repair center said that with the "low end" units, that the ballast and lamp frequently fail. They are going to come pick it up again and take it back.
I don't think they know what they're doing, and this isn't a "ballast and lamp" issue. I've contacted the now-Korean Zenith and they politely refer me to my service center. Anyone have any ideas what's going on here?

I finally got what might end up being a resolution to this. The Service Center said that it had a bad "light engine" and had ordered parts. After calling them after 2 weeks, they said the parts are on back order and that I should call Zenith about this. Zenith said that the part they had ordered was no longer available, but a substitute was. Could this mean that they fixed the original problem? They are shipping the "light engine" and it should arrive at the service center Friday. The Zenith rep admitted that there was a problem with the D60WLCD (same TV, but bigger). So maybe this design flaw has been identified and my TV will work for another 8 months. I think I'll just put it on ebay if it works ok for a while.

Called the Service Center again - they got the new light engine but she said they can't figure out how to plug it in. Sounds about right. I called Zenith, told them I want a brand new TV, they said maybe. I'm hoping to get the old set back and get a brand new set from Zenith. Then I can put them both on e-bay and get a Sony.
