well first off let me start by saying i totally ripped best buy off

i got the 46" Samsung DLP.... I live in Miami and Brandsmart had it for 1999 for a long time while Best Buy was at 2499... well Tuesday was the last day I could price match and I go into Best Buy and the TV is 1699.. I knew it was a price error but I jumped on it. I also got Best Buy Rewards. The pot just got even sweeter because Best Buy's current promotion was a free progressive scan dvd player and you choose 3 dvd's all FREE with purchase of any HD Tv 1499 and up so I went in today and got that too for free. All in all im in the tv for like 1500. Enough about that though.

I have Comcast and got the box like two weeks ago. The DVR box is coming on Monday since I didn't know they offered that. Right now my analog channels suck in terms of reception. Stuff like MTV, etc, you can tell it's grainy. On my Song WEGA *non HDTV* all of it was crystal clear. I just read that it maybe have to do with the line. The cable jack I use is in the other room and I run the cable all the way (25ft) to my room. But if that is the case, how come it was crystal clear on my Sony?

Right now two of my HD movie channels (Cinemax and Starz) arent coming in, they go in and out and pixelate like crazy (ive called Comcast about this already).

More so my posting is to get some buying advice. Right now the box is hooked up via the component cables. I need to go out and buy a DVI cable since that's superior quality.

I plan on getting a Bravo D1 , I hear this player is incredible and the price is good. V Inc just released the D2 and for the life of me I can't tell the difference (aside from a silver chassis versus black) .

If I hook the Cable Box via DVI, how do I hook up the DVD Player (thru HDMI or Component or DVI and then hook up the cable box through something else?)

I assume I should just get the cables of eBay? Can someone point me to good links .... thanks.

sorry, i don't have an answer for you; in fact, i have a question for you if you don't mind.
by the way, you really did rip them off - what a deal!! i got the 50" HLP5063W for $2599 with 10% back as a giftcard from circuit city, but your deal is awesome.

anyway, I'm hearing a high-pitch sound coming from the back of the TV, probably from the fan. it's not real loud but pretty noticable, even with the volume not all the way - my wife walking by in the back of me (probably around 15 feet away from the TV) can hear it. so I'm returning it for another same one. do you hear a similar sound?
thanks.

make sure you go into your comcast hidef box and select 720p or 1080i..

you can access it by turning off the unit and quickly hitting the menu button

ya all the HD channels are coming in fine now and it was already set to 1080i... it was only two channels that were messed up but afterwards (30 min later they were fine)..... still have the issue with MTV etc.
