So I just got a Sony KDF-50WE655 a few days ago. Love it.
However, when I first bought it, I just bought a cheap DVD player to go with it, because I would be upgrading the DVD/surround sound at a later date. I used the RGB output from the DVD, and noticed that during some scene changes (actually mostly just fast camera cuts) the picture/audio would drop out for 1/2 second or so. It would increase during action scenes. I tried playing the same DVD off of my PS2 (regular RCA out), with no issues. So I figured it was just the cheap DVD player, since the remote didn't work anyway, I took it back.
So I got a nicer player with a DVI out. Got a DVI -> HDMI cable, and went home and hooked it up. Now the entire pic doesn't cut out, nor the sound, but I still get a flicker during quick camera cuts. It looks like the picture jumps for 1 frame or so.
So I am assuming this is a problem with the TV, I don't see it from the normal inputs, just the RGB and HDMI inputs. I guess I will have to call Sony on this one, but I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this, or had any ideas...
Thanks!
