View Full Version : Love my 5063 but . . what about color probs with component inputs?
I agree with the many comments praising Samsung pq. I stood in Sears & Cir City for months staring at big sets - Samsung always looked best to me.
My problem: when I hook up with component connections from my DVD player, the color is terrible especially tint way off! If I use the good old video connection, it's fine. Anyone have this problem?
You may have a poor connection. Disconnect the component video cables and reconnect them, reversing the ends (what was in the DVD player to the TV, etc) Make sure they're firmly and completely in place. Don't mix up the colours. Then get back to us.
Which DVD player do you have? Check the menu items in the player to make sure you've properly selected component video output (YPbPr) and progressive or interlaced as you prefer...

My PQ is outstanding. I use component for my DVD and Sat box.

I called in the repair folks - not a bad process. Samsung gave me a ref # like getting a referal from your doctor. Anyway, as I by then suspected, one of the component colors, blue, was not getting in from the TV back panel. They have ordered the whole module (entry jacks, PWB, sub-chassis, etc) I can get ota DTV with my 811 now but it doesn't look like much through the little video cable. Meanwhile, I have ordered a DVI to HDMI cable (Startech - $22) but maybe the HDMI jack is also n/g. Time will tell.
