I have connected a Pioneer Elite DV-45A via component connection to my HLN467. Playback of widescreen DVD (1.85:1, 2.35:1 etc.) results in the image being "centered" on the screen - black bars on top and bottom as well as the sides. This is when the tv is in the "normal mode". The Pioneer is set to deliver a progressive image to a 16:9 tv. I need to use the "wide tv" mode to stretch the image, which results in an incorrect aspect. Should the tv not "lock on" to the incoming signal and display the native aspect ratio?
