Has anyone tried this with a 6800 ultra card mainly want to take from the secondary dvi output on the vid card and run it to the hdmi input on the tv.

I just basically want to be able to play games in 1080i or 720p format from pc to hdtv but don't want to spend the money on the cable if it will not detect the tv.

Also if anyone has done this with a 6800 series card does the tv then get detected as a lcd basically?

Look around in this part of the forum first, many have tried.
You can get dvi cabels if you shop around online ive seen them for as little as 12.99
So dont sweat the cash part.

Ive done it with my old 5700 and my 6800gt but i had to use a transcoder and powerstrip, never tried straight dvi.
With the new drivers that are out you dont need powerstrip anymore.
When i get my new rig built in a month or so im gonna try and go all on my
t.v. with no monitor, ill post a thread and explain if sucsessfull.
