I have the KDF-50WE655 and on initial Auto Programming of the channels I was getting several HD channels (HDNET, HdMOV, ESPN, Discovery, etc). The unit is configured with a digital cable box (not HD compatible). I have the cable line coming from the wall into a splitter and one line from the splitter to the cable input on the TV and the other to the cable box and then from the cable box to the UHF/VHF input on the TV. All HD channels came in fine for about two months and then they just went away. Any thoughts?

Well... they may have started encrypting those channels. Most have to pay a few extra $$ subscription (for those HD channels) in most areas.

CableCard rental and subscription will/may resolve the issue or upgrading your cable box.

Have you tried rescanning?

Media-com? Ratman is right. They probably just started encrypting the HD. I recently found out (with media com anyway) that once their HD subscriber level hits a certain #, that that is when they will spend the extra $$$ for the equipment to encrypt the signal.

Yes, my subscriber service is Media-com. Also, Media-com just upgraded thier on-screen display system. I noticed that the HD channels went away just about the smae time as the upgrade, so they must have started encrypting the HD channels. Drats!!!

Thanks for the info.
