I can get the

KP57WS520 for 1620.00 plus tax (no hd tuner)

KP51WS520 for 1440.00 plus tax (no hd tuner)

KDP51WS655 for 1709.00 (hd tuner built in)

which one do you guys think is the better deal?

I like the idea of free local channels until d*tv starts in june

Honestly, the best deal is the set that YOU like the best.

My 51" no HD tuner is fabulous for me. I have no need for a built in tuner but that could be nice as a back-up. You could buy the 1400.00 one and a seperate tuner and still pay less than the model with a built in tuner. And when d*tv gets the HD stations, you can sell the tuner on eBay.

I have the KDP-57WS655 HDTV with built in tuner and I love it  , I have an OTA antenna hooked up for HDTV and it was well worth it. Watching the Superbowl, Nascars Bud Shootout and the Daytona 500 in HD was awesome  I would definitley go for the built in Tuner.

IMO it's more worthwhile to spend the $180 extra for the 57" model, I don't think you would regret getting the larger screen.

I'm rarely in favor of built-in anything, but spending $269 more for the 51" model with built-in tuner means you also have to buy an antenna and deal with any reception problems in your area. Since you are already planning to get the locals in HD when DirecTV starts offering them in June, why spend the extra now for less than 4 months use? Even as a backup, $269 seems a waste of money to me. You can always put that $269 toward what it will cost you to upgrade your DirecTV service to HD.

BTW, why the June DirecTV date? Do you have DirecTV now? Is this when you will be able to get locals in HD in your area? You do know that all DirecTV HD tuners include OTA capability, right?

If the extra 6" in screensize doesn't matter to you, simply go with the $1440 model and upgrade your DirecTV service to HD now. The only thing that will change when they start providing locals in HD in your area is that you won't need an antenna any longer.

For Sure go for the bigger screen as your budget allows

No problems here, this TV rocks  still new at only two months this HDTV is very impressive, was considering a Sony 60" LCD but with the TV's still having growing pains and glitches CRT's still rule.

I would also go for the bigger screen size. My sony doesn't have an internal tuner and it really doesn't bother me since I get my HD via a comcast STB. I would like to have a tuner for OTA and get an antenna but I would rather have a larger screen. My $.02
