when it arrives...I want to connect my toshiba 62hm94 to Cablevision's SA4200hd via ieee1394. This will allow me to use the only HDMI for DVD.
Has anyone used the IEE1394 ? I've read in this forum that there may be issues with interactive features and ananlog channels.

I've been able to connect my Comcast Moto 6200 to my Sony HDTV through firewire (IEEE1394, i.Link, etc.), and that's where I get the clearest connection and best upscaling for all of my video sources.
However... I cannot see displays from any of my firewire devices (DVHS or STB) over the firewire connection. To see the guide or other setup displays, I have to use some other connection (component, DVI, S-Video), then after choosing the channel or setting things up, I switch to the firewire connection to watch it.
Also, firewire is more finicky than the other connections, so I would have a backup connection regardless of the guide/display problem.
