Just got it today, everything seems great, was wondering if the set accepts 720p? I think it does, but don't have any games that support it yet. Also was wondering what view setting people have the tv on when playing a ws game? I believe I had it on "full" mode and it seemed fine.

It will convert the 720p. I use full - that way nothing is cut off.

I just got that TV yesterday and spent all day watching movies, playing xbox etc. What a great set, PQ is amazing HD stations can't be beat. Anyway, you'll have to get an HD kit for xbox to play it in 480p or 720p. I used the rca jacks that came with xbox and the picture for Halo 2 was pretty good. I know people that have the kit and PQ gets even better. :wow:

It definately helps! You forgot to mention the 1080i rez - though not many games support it.

MX Unleashed is 1080i capable and it looks amazing.

Also for the PS2 folks, Gran Turismo 4 is 1080i capable as well. Although it has a few jaggy edges due to the hardware it's running on, it looks great. During some of the replays if you didn't know better you'd think the cars were real.

I'll have to try MX.
Matrix was 1080i and it was not all that. Over all though even 480p looks much better than a standard picture.

Halo 2/Xbox has some issues with Sony TVs... including my KDF42W655 - games that are widescreen compatible will only play in 480i instead of 480p and won't go 16:9 - most people don't notice it because the TV will stretch the 4:3 input using "full". It appears fine this way but not as detailed as it should be because the TV thinks it's a 4:3 signal so it forces it to fit 4:3 and then stretches it back out. Some of the signal quality is actually lost but it doesn't look bad. Microsoft is working on a fix - if anyone is interested the thread on the Xbox forums is: http://forums.xbox.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=11045288

The quickest way to tell if this is affecting you is to pop in a widescreen compatible game like Halo 2 (I think most Xbox games are compatible, Halo 2 is the only one I know for sure) and once the game starts up, hit "display" on your TV remote. If it says 4:3 instead of 16:9 like it should, you might want to follow the thread and contribute your info. I've noticed from the thread that it mostly affects Sony TVs...

yeah, Enter the Matrix was 'not all that' on so many levels. I thought it was such a let-down.

Unleashed is a fun game though. And I'm sure you can probably find a used copy pretty cheap. I don't get into the racing aspect much but it's a lot of fun to just drive around and check out the landscape, especially in HD. Some of the more insane jumps really make your stomach drop when you play it on a larger tv.
