Ive read the FAQ on What to do when you get your HDTV home.

I do not have any of the setup dvds mentioned in the FAQ.

My Panasonic levels all go to 63
picture choices are: and I currently have them set like:

color - 14
tint - 14
brightness - 8
picture - 16
sharpness - 11

color temp - warm
natural color - on

is this ok for the burning in period. (200hrs)

what would be suggested ?

I don't know what setting your tv should be set at- just general info to help out if you haven't read it yet...

Check out this link:

http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatv/plasmatv-burnin.html

GOOD INFO but the just of it is:

Contrast set at or below 50%

Use your plasma's anti-burn-in features:

White Bar Scroll- a white bar scrolls from left to right on a black screen to "wash" the screen since it goes from one extreme to the other extreme (white to black)

Screen Reversal- if the color should be red it will show up blue and so on.. GREAT to keep the little channel icon (FOX, CBS, etc) from burning in the bottom right corner of your screen..

Side Panel Adjustment- for when in 4:3, set this to "bright" which will make the side bars a greyish color instead of black. Grey is less contrast than black- which is healthier for your TV. Try to watch in "full" mode so it stretches the picture to fit the screen as well..

Wobbling-shifts the pixels slightly (your eye can't detect it) so the same pixels are not being used to make the same picture over and over (which is what causes burn-in)

Peak Limit Mode- saves your TV by not producing the best picture it can all the time. I use this when laying around the house watching tv and then switch it off to impress friends with the picture, watch football or my fav show and so on..

NEVER leave a static image on any plasma TV screen for more than hour.

The above features will decrease the life of your TV.. My new Panny TH50PHD7UY 50" plasma has a 1/2 life of 60K hours. That means 5 hours a day it will last over 32 years! If I use the above features every 100 hours and it only last 26 years but has a great picture the whole time, so be it! I had my old TV (42" NEC 42MP2 plasma) a whopping 4 years...

I use the "Screen Reversal" feature when I watch a channel for a long period of time to clear out the channel icons on the bottom of the screen. Commerical breaks help and switching to another channel without the icon for a bit helps as well...
