hdtv viewing regular cabel and video security

:D :D I have a sony kdx34br2 and i seen someone else post a message about the video without hdtv cable yes you will not see a good picture unless the chanel is comming in on the hdtv chanel.I have a problem with viewing a security camera i can not see the inferred at night and i get a terable picture in the day with the video. This scares me when i have an expensive tv and can not see what is going on. Any sugestions

Does the security camera work properly on another TV?

If you are getting any images, then it sounds as though the connection is working - I assume it sends a signal to channel 3, are you tuned to the appropriate channel?
