Based on this:
The last letter I got about my bill being raised was last summer, and since, my cable bill has gone DOWN .

Well lets not be so hasty with remarks like that. I still have EVERY service that I started out with. Initially the bill was almost $75/mo. My last 3 bills for the last 3 months, are almost $69/mo. Same services, same everything. Nothing has changed other than the bill going DOWN. And that was after a letter stating the price would INCREASE.
A rather pleasent discovery if I may say so. Maybe a mistake on Adelphia's part (highly unlikely) but I am reporting MY circumstances. Others mileage may vary.

From the guy who shoots his mouth off all the time. Prove the decrease was just Adelphia not needing every dime they can get and lowered YOUR bill. Post proof and if your correct I will apologize. Untill then I call BS on this and the rest of you misinformation.

Damn it! You are too much! I am absolutely, positively, f'n sick and f'n tired of having to defend every f'n thing I write! This is the LAST F'N TIME I DEFEND MY WRITINGS!!!
Adelphia LOWERED MY BILL $5.00/mo for the HD Plus tier they had RAISED from $0.00/mo. When I was talking to the service rep about my account when I was having my box re-authorized, said that I was being erroneously over charged and would remove the charge from my bill and credit my account for the previous months I was charges (and paid) for the HD Plus tier. I still have EVERY HD CHANNEL AVAILABLE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 2 MOVIE CHANNELS THAT I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO.
So even though my rates were raised, Adelphia also lowered my bill. 5 bucks is 5 bucks.
Mr. moderator, learn some manners, and learn to actually have faith that not everyone lies. So, so sorry that I actually know what I talk about and that the moderators of this site cannot accept that FACT. Mis-information? You need not look farther than your fellow moderators for that. Hell, I've got one mod so far up my ass, he is leaving negative ratings on a post stating "Incomplete facts"! Know what I wrote?
A question was posed whether or not it would be noticeable upgrading to HD. I said "YES, you will notice an extreme difference for the better." How in the hell is that "Incomplete facts."?
As I said earlier, I WILL NOT DEFEND MY WRITINGS FROM THIS POINT ON.

SO THEY IN FACT DID NOT LOWER YOUR BILL BUT CORRECTED AN ERROR IN BILLING THAT WAS OVERCHARGING.

No one ever thought you lied, You are just wrong so often about what you post. You always give yourself an out with "As far as I know" or "IMO"
Unfortunatly you post mis-information so often that it is tiresome correcting it. Virtually every suggestion you give is against the accepted practice.

Adelphia corrected the billing is correct. That constitutes my cable bill BEING LOWERED. You don't want to admit it. Be a man and apologize like you said you would.
I want PROOF that I "Unfortunately post mis-information so often that it is tiresome to correct it." Who the hell has changed any of my postings to correct information? I also want PROOF that "Virtually every suggestion I give is against the accepted practice." And what the hell is wrong with letting someone know there is a possible doubt with using "as far as I know" and what is wrong with giving MY OPINION?! You do the same thing you hypocritical ***. ALL of you moderators do that, but I don't hear you guys whining like little school girls about that.
Just amazing how many I do help here. Geez, what an *** you are.

Back to topic.
I have never gotten a price decrease on my cable bill or any such notice. Ive had cable for over 15 years now and only have had increases or price changes with change of service.
A few months back, Rogers implemented a $9.95/mo charge for several HD channels. Many HD viewers complained via e-mail, snail mail, fax, etc. We suggested alternatives, reasons that the increase was excessive, etc. They reduced the price to $4.95/mo and put one of the channels back on the "free" tier.
Although I have not seen an increase or decrease in broadband charges personally ($45/mo for about 6-7 years), Rogers has implemented four "tiers" for broadband. So, the speed that we originally had can now be purchased for less, but the "tier" that I subscribe to has increased in speed many times, without an increase in price.
Depending on the package (or lack of package) that you have with Rogers, they now have a new "package" that has a 15% decrease in price for TV services (not internet, not STBs). Some people saw their prices drop a little, or got many more channels for about the same money. You can also "bundle" TV/wireless/internet and soon VOIP, which will decrease your overall bill.
So, although most people have not seen their monthly prices decrease because most people get more and more services, almost everyone now pays less per channel and less per bit, etc.

Correction of improper billing does not constitute a subscription price reduction IMO.

I didn't think it would. But for a company that needs "every dime", they still LOWERED the bill, regardless of the circumstances, and I still have those same services I originally had and I am paying less. Pretty cut and dry.

Adelphia corrected the billing is correct.
]
It is called an overbill.... They then started billing you for the correct amount. It is not like they went to all there subscribers and said we are charging you all too much. As usual you are a special case.
You can be mad at me all you want, call me names what ever.

This just a small amount..
IMO works great if you are talking about a movie but using it in front of something you state is fact.
As far as I know means You may be wrong- So unless you have a data to back it up- not something from a memory don't post it.

"Anyway, we negotiated and here's what I got....
Instead of $9.99 for the HDTV box if would now be free of charge.
Also, an additional $10/mo discount (for one year).
And...an immediate upgrade to Platinum Plus (I had just regular Platinum).
My normal $119.83 monthly bill would now be $101.81."
It DOES happen. It is not just overbilling that once adjusted comes down. You can haggle and get results as well as indicated by the quote above.

That is a quote from another poster on this site, copied directly from a post he wrote. See the quotation marks?
I myself pay almost $69 as I stated.

Well, mine went down on Cox Cable because they stopped charging extra for Discovery HD here. There were price increases for everything but the Total Package, which is what I have. So, while folks who weren't getting Discovery HD saw slight price increases of $2-$5 or so, those with Discovery HD got a decrease unless they had more than 3 digital/HD boxes ($1.00 extra each) or less than the 4 Premium Packages ($.95 extra each) offered. Everyone with HD now gets Discovery HD for no added charge. In many cases it was a wash for both the cableco and subs, just a realignment of charges.
As for calling the correction of errorneous charges a decrease, that seems to be akin to calling decreases in the rate of growth a cut. I guess it all depends on your point of view, things still go up, just not as much. Technically it may be a decrease, but that is certainly outside the "normal" definition most people would associate with a decrease and probably does not fall in the perview of the poll, though only the poll starter can answer that.

The poll starter says:
decrease = all subscribers see a lower monthly fee (not due to billing error, haggling or contracter/employee discounts/favors).

Well, my csp is doing the opposite on what the poll starter mentioned
