Okay, I'll start out and admit I did a dumb thing. So there I'm retarded

First let me say I'm not a expert BUT I have applied "tweaks" and have done some adjusting on my HDTV over the past year that I have owned it and have never screwed anything up.... until now....

I was thinking about starting over with my tweaking so I was reading through some of the threads on this site looking for a possible way to reset all my settings to factory on my HDTV and ran across the following:

RESETTING THE DATA
Note: Be careful when using the remote! It will clear and re-initialize
ALL NVM data including defl ection adjustment data if not reset properly as follows:

RESETTING THE MID NVM DATA
1. Enter into Service Mode.
2. Press 7 , then JUMP , and then press ENTER on the remote.

RESETTING THE SYSTEM NVM DATA
1. Enter into Service Mode.
2. Press 7 , then 9 , and then press ENTER on the remote.

I used the "Resetting The MID NVM DATA" (not knowing better) and now I regret it.

I have a SONY KP-46WT510 and now when I turn on my TV there is NOTHING showing up. :wow:

If I go into the SERVICE MODE the only thing I can get to show up the the PJE stuff. I've tried every input and NOTHING. My wife is about to cut my gonads off!!

I really need some help. Somebody please tell me I didn't totally flub up my HDTV and there is a easy solution to get everything back to normal.

If someone with more common sense than me can give so help I would appreciate it so much.

Hate to say it but call a repair tech and pray, it's possible to damage your TV beyond repair doing things like that...

This is kind of late, but I googled KP-46WT510 "service mode" and found this on another forum:

"pressing 7 jump enter in the service menu rendered my kp-65ws510 pictureless.audio is on but video 1 to 6 is dead. video 7 is ok so i can still see the service menu and the tv menu.on the tv menu the icon CH has only CHfix highlighted..pressing 8 enter did not help either.perhsps anyone of you out there can help me reset my tv back to normal operation? does your service manual indicate any comments in restting the tv back to default or factory settings?any number combinations to press on the remote?I live in the philippines and it is quite frustrating to seek help at Sony Philippines..I spent $100 on overseas call to SonyUSA omly to be profiled..I'd been burning these keyboards just to get the right answer.I hope there are still kind hearts out there".

And,

"Too bad you did not have your service manual before you did the "7 + Enter" keypress, or you would not have done it. That keypress is used when an unprogrammed NVRAM (EEPROM) IC has been installed. Unfortunately, there is no "reset to factory default" keypress for the service menu. The parameter values vary too widely from set to set, so there is no "global reset" for you to use. Someone here may be able to give you a set of "average data values" to get you in the ballpark, still a good deal of tweaking will be needed to make the set right. As you have witnessed, Sony has no sympathy for those with self inflicted service menu wounds......"
