During the set up wizard for the SA3250HD I have the option of "Bypass on" or "bypass off" when the cable box is turned off. What does that do? I'm using the DVI connection to my TV, if that matters.

This option is to "bypass" the STB, allowing the signals to flow out the RF-coax to a TV. I don't believe this option is enabled on most STBs anymore. On some STBs you needed to purchase a separate bypass module....

Is the bypass a software driven function? I'd like to use the bypass on my Motorola 6208 STB, but it doesn't seem to work at all. I'm assuming the firmware doesn't have it enabled. Any insight?
