Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice...
I just bought this new Sony 50" RP LCD TV on January 25. One of the speakers was making a rattling noise from the day I got it. So, around two weeks after I got it, I called the store and they sent out a technician from Sony who completely dismantled the TV and replaced the defective subwoofer.
The problem I have now is that the video quality is not as good as when I first got it. The video used to be crystal clear when I was watching a DVD or playing a game on the Xbox, but now it looks like the entire inside of the screen is coated with dust or something. It's most noticeable when there are bright images on the screen, but it can be seen all the time. The tech had sprayed the mirror and the inside of the screen with a can of compressed air before he re-assembled the two halves of the screen. Do you think that some of the compressed air propellant might have coated the screen or the mirror? It's really been driving me crazy because I know how good the display should look, but now it's grainy looking.
I called the store today to complain and they said that they would send out the techs to open it up again and clean it. I know they'll probably get here, look at it and say I'm being too picky, but other people have noticed the difference also. Does anyone know if these things can be cleaned and restored to new condition again, or should I just insist they replace this TV with a new one?
