I have a Samsung HDTV ready tv and just purchased the Hughes E86 HD receiver. I am getting the HD package from Directv. My question is will I get the few network (cbs,nbc,abc) programs broadcast in HD thru Directv or do I get HD network programs off the air.

A quick search would reveal that DirecTV does not offer ANY of the networks or locals in HD. You will need to put up an antenna and get them OTA. Check out the FAQ forum, if you haven't already, for more info on that. All you might be able to get with DirecTV in HD will be HBO-HD, SHO-HD and HDNet (which reverts to an HD PPV channel in the very late evenings/early mornings).
