Hi,
Can anyone tell me if Sony's new XS line is their take on LCOS? Also, I sit about 15' from my TV, what size screen would suit me best? Thanks, Ray

The XS is LCD, not LCoS. The only Sony LCoS is their 70" KDS70Q006, which they term SXRD.

The general rule is your seating distance should be about 2.5 times your diagonal screen size. So at 15', that would work out to 65"-70".

I have seen the 70" Sony LCD RPTV and it is great.
The 70" qualia 006 is supposed to be even more exciting and realistic...but you cannot get one unless you are buying from their Sony stores as far as I know. The stand along sets you back $1500 and the set is prices start at about $13,000 (US).
The Sony you can get anywhere now at 70" is priced anywhere from $5499 on sale to $6999 plus matching stand at $900-$1000 (US), but a steal compared to the qualia 006.
Crutchfield has it for $5999 without stand right now and I have heard good things about their TV delivery.
You are ripe for a 70" set at 15 feet, IMO. Sony says for my 60" set, 8 feet is the minimum and to get the details HDTV is about, it seems about right, even about 10 feet away. :)
