Has anyone heard if any company is developing FIREWIRE A/V Receivers to complement the Mitsubishi HAVi HDTV's and D-VHS VCR's??? Or DVD Firewire?
I heard a rumor that there was a new $4000 (DENON? perhaps) A/V Receiver that had an OPTION to add firewire connectors for an extra $1000.

I only know enough to be dangerous so double check everthing said for yourself.
The Samsung SIR-T165 has a firewire port. Not a common connection it seems. I need the firewire to go into a DVD -RW burner in a Toshiba Notebook PC. I have located new units for as low as $499... a better price than $two grand$!!!
Please let me know if you find other tuners to consider. I only need Over-the-air HD capability.
Thanks,
MB

I don't know of anything Eyedox and I've been keeping pretty up to date on A/V receivers. Not to say there isn't anything out there, but I've read every issue of S&V for about 4 years and don't recall anything...
