I have recently bought the CT30WX54 and love it so far. I subscribe to Cablevision (Digital IO cable) and use a Scientific Atlanta 4200HD set top box. When the cable guy installed the box, he made the Scientific Atlanta remote control the default. I now do not have the ability to change the ASPECT ratio using the Panasonic remote.

I can change the Aspect using the Scientific Atlanta remote but it does not have the "JUST" setting as an option. This means I cannot use the "JUST" setting on Aspect control when watching cable TV.

I can, however, use the Panasonic remote to adjust Aspect when watching a DVD. I have programmed the Panasonic remote to operate the cable box but still cannot use it to set the Aspect ratio. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

The TV remote should still be able to control the TV. What may be happening is that he set up the SA4200HD to send out HD signals all the time. Most TVs cannot properly stretch HD. That's why you can stretch the DVD player signals and not the STB.

See the FAQ on "Tips for SA STBs". If you have Passport firmware, many of the tips there function differently, but it may give you some ideas...

First, see if you can stretch the SD channels. If not, you may need to set up the STB properly to send SD signals for the SD channels. You still won't be able to use "Just" for the HD channels.

57U - that is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for your help with this. The FAQ on the SA box was also very helpful
