Hi all i have a panasonic PT 43lc14 lcd rptv and i have it currently connected to my pc using the rgb wire and input on my tv. The pq is very good with this connection, if i switch to hdmi to dvi (pc has dvi out on it tv has hdmi input) is it going to make a noticable difference if yes which wire is best to get, ill probably get it off ebay because the cost is much cheaper, but is there any certain type of wire i need to get like dvi-d or A? thanks

Make sure your video card can output DVI-D and any of the DVI to HDMI cables will work.

I don't recommend buying them off of ebay. I bought one and it lasted one week before biting the bullet. So I have gone to RAM (ramelectronics.net) and bought a nice 10 footer for about 50 bucks. Recommend you take the same course and bypass what may turn out to be a mistake. Just my opinion.

I buy and sell of ebay all the time , totally safe and i have never gotten anything bad or not working from there before, they are usually all brand new or mint condition.

I have the same type of situation where I had to go DVI out from the ST Box to HDMI in on the TV. I ended up getting a converter cable from www.svideo.com and it is working great. I got a 10' cable for about 30 bucks shipping and everything. Give them a try, it might work nicely for ya.

As far a PQ quality.....I have an RPTV so the PQ was just about the same as using component cables.....its depends on whats on tv......some HD shows I can see a diff, others I cant......but it freed up a component slot for my PS2 so I was happy........ Good hunting.

I am not using component cables for my pc to tv i am using the rgb wire (pc monitor wire) and the pq is excellent so i was wondering if it will make much difference to use dvi or hdmi?

ya and there is a very good chance of getting ripped off at a retail store aswell. There is a first for everything no matter where you buy stuff. Ebay is usually 40- 100% cheaper then any store i can find which is why i will always check there first. 75$ for a monster component wire worth over 160 ya i think ill stick with ebay, i got monster power bar from ebay for 115$ canadian and at bestbuy it sells for 265$ plus tax. that 115 includes shipping.
oh ya and those monster products were both brand new in the box.

Well Fastlane, I'm not against Ebay at all. We all get ripped off once in a while. I was just giving my view on buying a cable from Ebay. I bought it cheap and cheap is what I got. So I learned that a little more of an investment on my part yeilded a greater degree of quality and reliablity without breaking the bank.

I buy AND sell off Ebay all the time too, so I was not really telling them to avoid ebay. Just to be careful!
