View Full Version : HDMI - *VERY* Slight Buzzing

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone else was getting a very slight background sound (buzz) when a HDMI device is hooked up to their TV. It's done it with both a DVD player and my HD DirecTivo at this point. It is barely audible (maybe slightly louder than typical TV fan noise) and with any audio going on, you don't notice it.

Is this normal does anyone know?

TV is a Sony KDF-50WE655 by the way.

Thanks!

Oh, and this is with different HDMI cables by the way. (Both from the manufacturers respectively.)

is this from tv speakers, AVR speakers or just a general 'hum' that comes out of the back of the tv? Try running your cables differently, do you have power cables touching the HDMI or the HDMI/power cables touching speaker wires?

I believe it's coming from the TV speakers (no AVR). The cable is running through a hole in the stand for neatness sake, but otherwise not touching any other cables I'm aware of. I'm not in the location right now, but I can try moving it and see if that makes any difference.
