I just read the C-Net review of the HD-52Z575 in which the JVC was compared against a Samsung DLP and a Hitachi LCD. I was wondering if anyone out there knows what they ment when they wrote:
"For example, links in the chain on the ferry as it motored across New York Harbor appeared a tad less distinct. Multiburst test patterns from that tape backed up our findings; the set could barely resolve a 14MHz pattern, while the other two sets could." http://reviews.cnet.com/JVC_HD_52Z575/4505-6484_7-30925113-5.html?tag=top
What is a 14MHz pattern any way. This TV is supposed to have a 75MHz super detail processor. Why does this set have so much trouble creating a sharp image? When I looked at one sitting next to a Sony LCD at the local Good Guys I noticed that the Sony's image was a lot sharper, even with the JVC set to +30 detail. The JVC also cast a weird purple fringe on the edges of white objects such as a boat in the water. Is there a fix for these problems, or is this just the best picture you can expect from JVC even when they are using more advanced LCOS technology? Can a service technician focus the lense and align the LCOS panels to fix this problem or is there no solution? I am considering buying this JVC but would like to know if I can fix these problems when I get the set, or if I should look elsewhere. Thanks.
