HDMI>DVI Cable

Does anyone know the difference between the DVI-D dual link with 24 pins, and the DVI-D single link with 18 pins? I have a NS975 dvd player hooked to my 60xbr950 with a single link Monster cable, and find the picture to be grainer than my old dvps500 player. The picture is brighter, but shows more artifacts. I was wondering if the type of DVI-D cable made a difference.

If the cable is working, the different cable won't make a difference. The FAQ "DVI/HDMI Information" probably has a link to a description of the various DVIs.

Hope you didn't spend too much for that Mon$ter cable...
