PT-47WX4/52 shut itself off.....

I got this set just over 2 years ago and tonight as we were watching tv it just shut itself off. The power light is flashing 5 times and then stops for about 5 seconds and reapeats. If I unplug it and turn it back on it will come on but i get two black bars on the sides and and some RGB overlay ont he picture. Then about 30 seconds later it shuts off again! ANyone ever hear or see this problem before. TIA

I had this problem earlier this year. Shut itself off and would blink 5 times. Left it unplugged for some time and it ran for awhile and shut itself off again. Called for service and a week later the service guy shows up, and what do you know TV worked for the 2 hours he was here. I was sure that as soon as he was driving down the road it would shut off again. It hasn't done it again since (4-5 months). He said that the panasonics are very particular about the power conditions, and that it was likely something temporary like low voltage or something.

My advice is to leave it unplugged and try it every once in awhile when this happens.
