View Full Version : Comcast/Motorola STB Delayed response

The box that I just got when they hooked me up for HD occasionally doesn't react to the remote when I use the Guide or try to change the channels. I get no reaction from the box and then after perhaps 20-30 seconds, it will react to the multiple buttons I pushed on the remote. It seems to store the remote actions and then spits them out all at once.
Is this normal for this box? It is an intermitent problem and not that annoying.
This used to happen with some older firmware, but I thought the issue was solved. If it doesn't happen too often, I wouldn't worry about it.

It does occasionally happen but not too often, and it probably takes for me somewhere between 5-10 seconds to react. I actually had to replace my remote with comcast recently and had not had this scenario occur recently. I got the dual tuner remote this time around with the Swap button and it started to exhibit the delays once again for the first couple of days. It's been about two weeks since the new remote and it's behaving better now.

Mine did this for the first two days. Then it stopped and has worked perfectly ever since.
How can that be?
Nate
This is a known issue with the motorola STB's. If you call and complain to Comcast about it, they should give you a credit on your monthly bill. They did for me when I asked to be compenstated for my inconvienence.

Thanks. I will give Comcast a call and see what I can do. I will probably stick with my box just to avoid having to reconnecting all those wires.
